ok so I've said that this rp will be in no way associated with anything manga/anime/kh based.

So I thought of a possible idea


Title: Earth that was
Info: based on a cross-over between Firefly and Stargate.

Ok so the Stargate program has been launched world wide, people are starting to settle off into separate off-world colonies, the Gua'old (not sure about the spelling) are long dead, the Tok'ra and Jaffar have left to find their own galaxies, and all those that fall under the protected planets treaty of the Asgard all share stuff.

RP: it'll be a new team of SG-113 hopefuls, all of whom just go out on recon missions, to find new homes, before the inevitable space migration of Earth. But there's a hitch, one of these newbies has just uncovered an old yet entirely new threat. A lost Wraith outpost. And using Replicator technology, they've created the beings with the blue hands.

Basically, they escape and we search and kill them. Plus they're Wraith overlords. These guys are, in Firefly, the ones hunting River Tamm, plus with the main antagonists of Stargate Atlantis, I just thought that it'd be nice to know what made the Alliance so dangerous in Firefly. And so I don't get hassle from Ryobin, yes this is a sci-fi version of Infection, but with a military backing.

If Sylver will allow this one up, I'll go into a tad more detail about the military aspect of it.

do we need to know about the story of both movies... I only remember a little bit of the gate in stargate (if that is the movie I think it is) and I have never heard of firefly....

Stargate is several separate series of a Sci-Fi channel TV show... never saw more than a few clips of it myself. As for Firefly, I think that's also a TV series. Sounds interesting enough, but if I'd need to have seen the show to play, I'll wait for the Pirates.

Well it's sort of like, you kinda need to know the basic gist of Stargate, while with Firefly, all you really need to know about that is that, the people that the Alliance (the evil dictating overlord law system) send as assassins are just mondo powerful, mondo secretive, and obey orders to the dot. So I thought well why not have them been made by a main antagonistic group in the Stargate universe.

Also Stargate SG-1 went for ten seasons and three movies, while Stargate Atlantis has gone for about three seasons, and is still in production, I think. Firefly however only had one season, and was canned by the Fox network, but it became such a cult hit, that the creator went to Universal, and made the movie Serenity, as if to say, Up yours Fox, if you'd only let it go on for a bit longer then you would have had all claims to the movie rights, and alot more money from the fans (aka Whedonites - fans of works done by Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly/Serenity)

I was so mad firefly was canned, I absolutly loved that show...and SG-1...mostly because of R. D. Anderson...

so is anyone going to actually make this?

Also, Sora, I checked the upcoming shows for 'firefly', since I was sure I'd seen it before on the Sci Fi channel. Didn't find it. Looks like I'll need to pass on that one for now... or just have you explain everything Tai does

Eh, I haven't seen either show and I don't feel like looking for them, it's a shame but I don't think I could join it. Prehaps you could tweak it to be more independant of the shows? As in, playable with no info from them.

hence why I still need sylver's approval for it to go off. If he says it aint happening, then I'll just think of something else, but yeah with not alot of people up for this, I don't want it to end up like the tragedy that was the Code Geass Rp on the Origins

Fair enough, still could I recomend an 'inspired by x' rather than something actually based in its world? It's not restricted by the canon as you can change whatever seems needed and you can put us at the start of a plot arc, in other words, where we don't need to know anything that isn't summed up in a few paragraph intro post.

Well still I've gotten word from Sylver that it's a no-go for this idea, still this thread is about possible rp ideas. Of mine.

and sorry for the double post, but I've had more ideas

One is a sort of History repeats itself, in the world from The Nightmare Before Christmas, except with Jack's son instead of Jack, and the Easter Bunny instead of Santa. With a few complications of course. This came about from Ryobin not knowing about the NBC level in KH. (Spooks of Halloweentown)

Another is basically a roleplay centered around the goings on of the Xig-BAR

Another is basically a shop in the Shibuya district of Japan that's been getting some strange customers lately, and if that wasn't enough a new Ramen joint has openned up shop, and is stealing every other store's business. (Downtown Shibuya)

Finally the last one takes place in the back allies of a place the residents call Death City, due to it being home of the Death God's mansion. In these back allies where the law of Death God barely reaches, there are gangs, Death Patrols, and the occasional Witch roaming around. (The East Ally)

So yeah, thoughts, anyone want elaborations on the plot of any or none, and if enough people are interested, I'll start the rp

(5-7 for Downtown Shibuya)
(3-9 for The East Ally)

Hmmm, the first two I'm not very keen on, the second looks ok but I'd really be fairly interested in the fourth. Care to expand on the back story for it a bit?

Ok well this one is sort of gunna be similar to life on the streets, being in between four major powers of the back allies of Death City.

The law of Death God hardly reaches this far, and those that would want to either disrupt life in Death City, or have already had their lives disrupted in one form or another live down here. These types fall into either the Death Patrol, a unit working for Death God to make his rule absolute, The Witches, those who are in a state of Cold War with Death God, the D.B.F., those that live in the East Ally that can't get work anywhere, so have decided to band together and look out for each-other, and finally those who hang around the Slums, who have fallen on hard-times in their existence.

Everyday in East Ally, is one more hardship to throw into the mess, with the Witches setting weaknesses in Death City, the Death Patrol hunting down criminals, the Slumers sinking further into depression, and the D.B.F.s getting into fights around town with the Death Patrol.

Basically it's a sort of pseudo-Cold War/gang warfare rp case anyone's interested

What i want my dear tai is something original, that was the point of my last post. Maybe mix some ideas, maybe do something that inst based off of something 2d and Japanese!

like I said it's an idea, and plus you didn't have everything worked out with your rp Sylver, so the back-story may take a bit more work, but Death City will remain as the setting. Heck I might do an idea I have for an upcoming story project of mine as the bases of the rp and then write that as the story.
