TheGriffin's ideas for some RPs

Well, I've noticed that a lot of the RPs popping up 'round here are quite action oriented, or hint to that direction.
I was interested in something a little less violent, since those always seem to be more successful anyway, I assume it's a good idea.

This one may remind you of something like Sinclair or Psycho U;
The first was based of a story I've read recently, a high fantasy world. (no science, magic does everything, people can control elements, all sorts of mystic races, blahdablah. Just about everything after the wheel has a magic varient and science is their fiction. Not to say you don't get some cults with crazy ideas, like steam engines! Ha, crazy people.)
It is set in a university, Magitus University to be accurate. About two thirds of the university are humans, however the story focuses on the third dorm, the Crete dorm which is 'catered better for the non-full-humans amoung our residents. You may interpret this as a racist attempt to seperate them, or an attempt to seperate them from racism, your choice. Anyway, the story I'm basing it off is amazing and has enough material for me to bring up a plot line in without much fuss.
My main aim for this one is something where RPers need little to no guidance from the creator save for the main plot points, with most of it being based on your own characters rather than my plot... I bet I missed a lot here, asking questions about it is a -good- thing.

The second one is pretty much Lockdown, or whatever I called it from the O, but again, less creator control (and less me making it up as we go along, though I did have plenty of it planned, I must learn to use the clue bat more xD)

Just about any race you could imagine in an institution, half-ogres, mermaids, goblins, kobolds, cat-people, fox-people, free golems , snake people, half-demons, sylphs, vampires, were-wolves, saturs, fauns, *list rambles on* half-elves, elves, dwarves, half-dwarves, part-dragons, centaurs possibly, I'm sure I could keep going for hours, I won't place limits really xD

either half demons, half elf or part-dragons, they sound the coolest

All of them will be there, plus crosses of all of the above no doubt

Obviously I'll be one of those crazy people with dreams of mechanics and steam power.

No doubt you will be one of the first to join these occult circles, with strange ideas of electrical machines, that grapple things, with hooks.

Hooks that grapple? The idea intrigues me...

I'm liking the first idea a lot. Seems like an RP almost everyone can join and enjoy~

That was the idea, I'm aiming for something that isn't really limited, and gives the players the option to RP everything even if I left. With the main hope being that the area of the school itself is as interesting as a plot would be. A hope, at least... It still has a plot >>

Is the magic from the first one only the elements, like oblivion with preset spells, or more like Eragon, dependent on how you interpret the thing you're controlling?

It's completely widespread, everything from illusion, necromancy, elemental control, emotional magic, enchanting, then of course, the whole world works on magic, everything from the maginet (they have internet... but magic) to the lights at night. Many of the races themselves are partly magic.

Sounds pretty awesome... Though you might be stretching it a bit with the name of the Maginet... might want to look for a replacement for that

Well, maybe you can have it be a little bit more then about just super-natural school life. Sure it's interesting, but it gets that monotinis feeling after 60 or so pages. Maybe something threatens the school? Maybe it evolves somehow in the future? I'm sure something will be planned before that happens. Becuase it's so free-based, there are so many different things that can happen~

Uber, the name is made as a bad joke to point out how blantently everything is just a magic version of something in our world, subtle self-parody of the unimaginative objects.

Now I need to find the most awesome magical race...
