Magitus University

A Friday evening, the Friday evening. On Monday, classes at Magitus University would start. Magitus was known up and down the country as probably the best multi-racial institution there was. You had, for one reason or another, been accepted into the university. Before arriving you had been given the Student Handbook which it is recommended to read though carefully.

Outside the university the sun was just disappearing behind the far hills. There was movement as the occasional student entered the campus, some for their first year. The school had been open all day but it wasn’t until now that the majority of the students had reached the campus.

Due to your non-human heritage you already knew your dorm, the Crete house, the other side of campus, with all its own facilities and teachers. There was never a need to travel to the other parts of the university, the areas for the human population of the school. Of course, this was, as your student handbook said, “A dorm made to cater to the more diverse needs of the many races present at our fine institution, fully equipped for convenience and with facilities on the same level as those of any other part of the school.” Not racist at all.

Along the far wall of the entrance lounge was a long counter with a few people, including a half-elf, sitting behind it. Each was beside a crystal ball and large amounts of paper work with a sign above them reading ‘registration’. Many of the students, still mostly human, just stood or sat around in the large lounge-like room that was the main lobby socialising.

Ignatius wandered through the front gates of Magitus University. He'd been told of it by his parents, of course, but he'd never seen it, hidden from society as he usually was. He nudged his backpack and walked up to a far end of the non-human counter, ignoring the looks he was getting. 'Better get used to it now, I guess." He thought to himself. "Hello, sir. I'm... er... Ignatius Walowik, here to enroll."

Riley slipped through the door as it shut behind the last person who entered, a strange looking crossbreed of some sort. Compared to his family estate, this place was drab, but large and well kept. The crossbreed ahead of him was standing at the counter, and was attracting most of the attention on himself. That worked out well, since the last thing Riley needed was attention... until he was properly in place anyway. It's not as if he was going to let himself blend into the crowd. It's not that they were bad people, he was just better. He moved up to a different part of the counter. "Riley Tinnsdale. I'm here to enroll. I assume this is the place?"

The man behind the counter just gave a strange look, somewhere between disbelief and a fearful surprise, as though an entire undead regiment of soldiers had just shown up to put on a ballet performance in the middle of the room. "I-Ign-inaga, um- Ignatas Waloki?" he said, his quill just moving up and down on the paper, hand shaking madly, without writing anything, his attention taken up slightly. The crystal ball beside him slowly began changing, the images flicking around before a portrait of Ignatius appeared on it along with some fast moving text around the base of the ball.

The man Riley walked up to was, unsurprisingly really, also looking at Ignatius who was a spectacle, to say the least. When Riley spoke, however, the guy turned around. "Yeah," he said, while Riley was still something odd himself this man was a bit more relaxed, "Tinnsdale, Riley," he repeated to himself quietly, looking through some of the paper while the crystal ball organised itself. He picked up a few slips of paper, "Here's a calendar of events, coupons for the student union, and emergency listings, you should pick up your class schedule at Crete," he said, pushing the paper into your hands.

"Walowik, yes. Thank you." He mentally rolled his eyes. He hadn't been out in a while, but he expected this. It came with being a crossbreed, especially a part-demon crossbreed. Adjusting his backpack, it squirmed slightly, but he nudged it again and no one seemed to notice, since they were busy staring at his face... and the second jaw.

Riley accepted the paperwork and glanced back at the crossbreed. He was definitely strange looking, but did he really deserve that much attention? It didn't quite seem warranted. He ruffled his wings and followed the signs to Crete. He looked around for where to go for his schedule... that and his room.

There was still quite a stutter in the mans hand, "Here's your papers" he managed to get out, sliding some coupons and a pair of emergency listings over the desk. He opened his mouth a few more times but just gave a sort of weird half-breath and eventually pointed towards a semi-hidden sign pointing out of a far door, it was simply labeled 'Crete'.

The signs to Crete weren't very direct but soon enough you reached the large open double doors, on the bottom floor you could see the two large staircases going up on either side of the room. One was labeled female, the other male. The bottom floor was abuzz with conversation, many of the races could easily be identified, a particuarly large half-ogre for example, while many others looked completely human.

Ignatius picked up his papers and thanked the man at the counter. He made his way down the lonely hallway to Crete. There was already a massive crowd in the main room. Ignatius walked down the stairs and into the crowd. He was thin enough that not too many people noticed him immediately. As he wandered around, he happened to hear someone ask how to find his room, so he sidled up so he could find out as well. Bonus if he didn't have to ask himself.

Tightening his grip on his staff, Riley made his way into the crowd. He found a halfway intelligent seeming humanoid reading a book in the corner. "Excuse me, sir. Where would I go to find out where I'm sleeping?"

Nina went alone to the school, didn't want to go through the drama of leaving her parents house. She flew all the way since the school was close to where she lived. When she got there the gates were apparent;y closing or being closed momentarily, so she just flew over the gates and saw the registration desk and landed right next to them. " Nina Flits, I'm here to enroll" she said rather nervously.

When Ranulf got there the gates were half way closed, he looked back at his parents and he waved goob-bye before rushing throught the gates before they closed. Once inside he started looking around for the registration desk, while looking he got distracted by a girl that just landed from the sky "wow, it must be preaty sweet to fly like that" he thought and then continued his serch, since he couldn't find the registration area he asked a passing stranger for directions.

As the book was lowered, the seemingly dwarvish character looked up at Riley. Unamused he gave a stern finger in the direction of a little desk behind which a feline girl with bronze fur was sitting and talking to a very human looking girl about something. Even here, a certain person was getting odd looks.

"We're under attack! Bird people!" came a worried shout from somewhere in the crowd, a few laughs came of this but nothing more. The man behind the desk handed Nina the small group of papers and pointed towards Crete, "You're dorm is in that direction."

Ranulf seemed to attract the least looks of Crete residents who had shown up so far. When asked for the desk an evidently human character pointed him towards the reception, apparently the Crete members had all moved straight to their own dorm.

Nina felt a little embarased by the comment and quickly moved to her dorm. Once there she noticed the decorations were not quite up to girl standars... she then asked around to find out where her room was.

"ook.. tahnks for the info" Ranulf told the guy that had simply pointed out directions and didn't say a single word. He went to the reception, gave his name and asked where he needed to go.

Ignatius slipped up beside the bird-man, who eyed him with a muted dislike. Ignatius ignored him and just asked where his room was. Sure, he coulda looked for it himself, but this way was easier to avoid an embarrassing mistake.

Riley waved off the dwarf. "Thank you for your time." He said, insincerely. Moving to the desk, he asked for directions to his room, ignoring all of the attention that crossbreed was getting. Sure, he was strange looking, but was he really that amazing? This could get very annoying very quickly.

OOC: Don't worry about taking control of NPCs such as the people at the front desk ect.

Ranulf was moved through quickly by the half-elf working at the end of the counter, quickly being passed the three small booklets and shown the way to Crete.

As each Riley and Ignatius asked at the desk they recived a simmilar response, a pleasent 'hello' and being handed a small packet with their name on it, oddly, before they had said their name. They were then both given the same statement, "In accordance with school policy I'll need to see the weapon you'll be using."

Before long Nina found herself pointed to the same desk Ignatius and Riley were at.

New school year, new faces, and new school. Just perfect... Joe thought to himself, or so he would have liked to think, but now with Renae in his head as well, Joe was never alone. Which was made painfully obvious by his body's next action. He just happened to pass by a cute girl, when his hand suddenly reached out and grabbed her ass. Least to say he got what she though he deserved, but in reality the perpetrator was just standing behind Joe laughing her fur off.

Renae couldn't believe how fun it was to possess this guy. At first she thought Joe was a stick in the mud, but after a while she had realized something "Stick in the muds like you Joe are the best to mess with." Renae said while still laughing like a mad girl, phantom tail twitching with excitement. Of course to everyone around her, she just looked like an ordinary girl, maybe with slight foxish qualities, but that was mainly due to the ring Joe was wearing. It allowed her to be seen in her human form when ever she willed it, to enjoy the world in her own guise. Except it hid her tail and ears from the world, exception being Joe. "Renae, shut-up, and try to find where we're meant to go, I don't want you screwing this up for me on the first day..." Joe said as he headed for the registration desk.

Upon getting there the two gave their names: Joseph Blogginston or Joe Bloggs for short; Renae Tsuni

Once on the desk, Nina overheard about the wepond thing, a small glow could be seen coming from her hand and a staff appeared, " this is my wepond" she interupted " is a staff capable of amplifaing the power of the holder, does this count?"

Ranulf made to the desk where apparently a lot of people were gathering, one of the staff members asks him about his wepond and " a wepond?.... well you see I prefere fighting with my fists and claws, not to brag but I am preaty strong and my claws are extremely sharp and they don't breack easily.... so do I still need a wepond?"

OOC: Really, you can control the people at the front desk now xD I don't want to have to slow things down by making you stop at every single NPC.

"Right then," said a more organized person giving two of each form to the front of the desk, "and which dorm will you be staying in then?" He wasn't paying a lot of attention and had no idea that anything was abnormal about the two, not assuming that they would be in Crete as the others had been.

OOC: Going to leave Rag until Uber posts, since Uber's characters were at the desk first, wouldn't want to mess up the time stream.

Also, why do you spell 'Weapon' with a 'd', Rag?

IC: Reaching past a small, green pile of fluff in his backpack, Ignatius pulled out the weapon his foster parents had made for him. "It's a 7-bladed glaive, enchanted to always come back to the thrower, even if caught by the target." His pack squirmed again, but he managed to cover up the movements by adjusting it with the tentacles on his back.

Riley lifted up his family heirloom with two hands. "Mage's staff. Five feet, three inches. Crystal in the tip creates light, enhances the skills of the user, and can only be cut by diamond or powerful magic." He listed off the traits automatically. He'd trained with this staff since he was very young, and had killed more than one robber with it after his parents' very public assassination.

OOC: Cool, and feel free to control NPCs interacting with other players if you want.

The girl nodded, her ears fluttering around as she looked over the weapons shown to her, "Those will do," she said, giving a slight indication that your buissness at the desk was over to all but Ranulf and giving another small packet to Ranulf and Nina.
"Now Ranulf," she said looking at him, "are those claws in anyway magical, as school rules declare a weapon must be? And would you be considered a monster for the purpose of weapon classes?"

"We'll be staying in Crete thank-you, and definitely the same room, right Joe-Joe!?" Renae said rather loudly, just enough to make tons of people turn and stare at them. This made Joe put his head in his hands and say "Shut-up Renae."

Of course this also made the very organized person sitting behind the desk to give them a very unorganized look of bewilderment. I was only when he looked over their names and forms that he understood why they had to be in the same room. "Right well, here is everything you'll be needed for your time here, calender, coupons, emergency listings, etc. Crete will have your schedules, which is in that direction..." the man behind the counter then gave them the proper directions towards Crete, and bid the two on their way.

As Renae and Joe left for Crete, Joe could hear a lot of whispering about what had happened at the front desk with him and Renae. Gods why have you forsaken me with HER Joe thought, not really caring about Renae's feelings. She was used to this by now. The two arrived at the place needed to get their schedules

Upon arrival the girl quickly handed the pair their packets before they said anything and gave them a signal to wait for a second while she waited for Ranulf's reply, not looking at either of them the entire time but instead staring at the boy who seemed to be lacking a weapon.

OOC:errr... bad grammar by my part, is just that weapon always sounds to me like it has a "d" at the end (mixing languages sounds :S )

IC:Nina kept going to see if she could find her room now, she was very tired from her travel to the school and all she wanted was to rest for a little while.

"well.... errr... no, they are in no way magical, but what is this about a pet monster as a weapon?"

OOC:almost wrote weapon with a "d" again '-.-

Riley leaned over and he set his staff back to on the ground and leaned on it. "She means would you consider calling yourself a monster for the purposes of being called magical, thus allowing your claws to be registered as your weapon. Technical jargon, your confusion is understandable. No doubt she gets this problem every year and has gotten used to saying things quickly which require more explanation." Riley was surprised to find that dealing with the common folk was not as detestable as he'd expected it to be, though it seemed their education was lacking, and these low level workers had no pride in their work.

OOC: Not dissing you, ragnarock. Just using your confusion to show his prejudice. Hope you don't mind Neutral

Also OOC: I'm liking Tai's system of only coloring the actual speaking. Gonna try that out for a while. Might make reading my posts easier.

IC:Ranulf face of eximent dissapeared after the... thing right next to explained what he had misunderstood "wait.... what!? me, a monster, what would that mean for me, just that I be considered some kind of beast or what? you know.... I always wanted to learn some transfigurations spells by the way...."

"Certain races, usually part: demons, orcs, or ogres take classes at unarmed combat but a weapon is still prefered" she said, clearly bored as she recited the line for what must have been the millionth time, "There are shops in town, you shouldn't have problems if you get a weapon before Monday."

OOC: Hey I only do that because they are technically the same person, just two separate personalities of the whole that is Jonae, as I like to call it...

IC: Renae looked at the person talking to her, while Joe said "Oh dear god, I hope not...", while Renae thought-spoke to him Oh you are so gunna regret that one Joe-Joe.... while at the same time responding to the question "No I'm not part demon, just an Illusionist. I'm actually here with my all time hunny-bunny Joe-Joe!"

Joe groaned. He knew about the part with Renae being an illusionist was meant for cover purposes, which he thought up. There weren't alot of Fox spirits around, and if anybody had found out about Renae, then he would be carted off to have experiments done on him. What he was groaning about was that she had to let everybody know that they were going to be more than just room-mates. Well still on her part Renae had thought it a bit awkward to say anything less than her and Joe being an item. Renae then said to the person she was talking to "Well I'd better go get my dorm room, bye then cutie." and with that she kissed him then walked off to where Joe was.

When Renae arrived at a different desk, she and Joe were asked what weapons they'd each be using. Renae went first, to which Joe scoffed at, by lifting the bottom half of her top to reveal a tattoo of an intricate fox like head. Renae then said "My fox mark, which holds my flames and illusionary abilities." Joe on the other hand took out of his pocket a stack of talismans, then said "Mystic Talismans, five elemental types, three trap types, two escape types."

"Sorry, but those are not counted as weapons under our school's rules. You'll have to join Ranulf here in getting a new weapon at town during the next two days." she said with a cheerful smile, having given them their packets. "And nice to meet you Joe, Renae I like to meet the motr uniqe members of our dorm. We don't seem to have any other pure humans or spirits joining this year."
